What everyone needs to know

Buying a car can be very costly. Young people are always taking out loans to buy cars. I can give tips to people who want to avoid this.

The first thing to know

I would first advice you never to buy a car brand new. When you drive off the lot the car loses a couple thousand dollars in value. A lot of money will be saved if you buy a car a few years old. Buying new cars isn’t the smartest idea for someone who is just now buying their first car; it is expensive and not practical.

The second thing to know

You need to make sure you buy an old car for your first car. Chances are that you will sell your first car quickly. This means you shouldn’t plan on keeping your first car for very long. If you buy a car from the nineties then it will save you a lot of money. The price will drop if you buy a car that doesn’t work properly in all areas. This car should work well enough to get you through college or your first few years of work.

The Third Tip

Hopefully you can pay for your car in cash. When you show up with cash rather than anything else it is going to look great and they are going to want to give you a deal. Doing this will work with more than just cars, it will work with everything. People are more likely to sell you things when you flash cash in front of them. If you are going to pay in cash you need to make sure you get a receipt or contract. You will be protected if you can show proof of purchase.

My fourth tip

My nest suggestion is that instead of taking out a loan you save up for the car. Think about taking out as little loan as possible for your car. You will have two things happen to you; you will appreciate your car a lot and save money. It will cost you a lot of money in interest to try and pay back a car loan. For your first car you should try to take out as little loan as possible.

My fifth suggestion

Make sure to take good care of the car. Your car will run a lot longer than a couple of years if you treat it right. Changing the oil and checking the engine are good things to do. Try to stop yourself from going on many long trips with your car. You need to keep the car clean on both the outside of it and the inside of it. All these tips should help you find a great car that will be inexpensive and will run for a long time.

What To Do When The Car Jams

Toyota have announced recently that they had to recall thousands of their cars that could potentially have faulty pedals, but the real question that needs to be asked is, what on earth do you do if your accelerator actually jams?

Step One

Panic will cause death so make sure you do not do it! You will end up getting into an even bigger state because you will be putting your family and other people at risk there is no doubt about that.

Step Two

Freesing the accelerater or rather trying to do so is actually the big reason this kind of thing goes wrong. When something like this does happen to people this is often the first thing they will try and do, this is a waste of time so do not even bother with it.

Step Three

Do not waste your time trying to turn things on like your hazard lights, concentrate on the stopping part.

Step Four

Hit the footbrake and not the handbrake as the brake pads will certainly burn out and send the car into a wild spin if you do this. You will then need to depress the clutch because this will stop the engine from putting power to the car.

If Everything Fails

If all of these previous things fail then I would simply turn things off at the ignition. Steerting the vehicle is key to this so do not take the key out of the caer.

So it really doesn’t matter if you are driving one of those cheap car leasing cars or the normal car leasing. Even if you have van leasing it will work.

If you follow these simple steps in a crisis like this you will find that it isn’t as bad as you first think and you can easily put a stop to the car without causing any problems at all.

The Recent Recession Should Not Stop You From Car Buying

The recent recession has certainly given the world a lot of problems when it comes to confidence in buying something big like a new car. Getting a new car is certainly a big thing and a lot of thought process will have to go into this, at it stands at the moment prices are going up every single year despite the companies getting worse off, do they ever learn.

Currently the government has a car scrappage scheme that is going on but this ends at the end of the month so I would expect the prices to rocket in the near future, you will be ripped off very soon.

The recession has also put many people into serious debt meaning that the only way they are going to be able to get a hold of a new car is through things like bad credit car loans and bad credit car finance and this usually tends to be a lot more expensive than if for example you were not in debt which sometimes isn’t fair.

Of course car leasing could be the solution to all of your problems and with a little help from something like gap insurance you could really look to save a lot of money. Showrooms are never really that great, you always get people trying to sell you the most expensive thing for that extra commission for them, look to the web to get your next car, it will help a lot.

Why are you looking down, the recession is over and things are getting back to normal, remember this when it comes to buying things. I would make the most of this current scrappage scheme because prices are going to increase from April onwards.

Road Distractions

Driving instructors will never point out all of the things out there that could really distract drivers when it comes to driving. It is not just the younger ones that are doing things like this, so many people are not doing it how they are supposed too.

Driving With One Hand On The Wheel

Apparently men do this more because they feel like the car is a part of them, I am pretty sure I couldn't give a damn about my car. (BMW research apparently) The reason that this is so dangerous is because the other hand is most likely going to be used for picking up a drink, getting a bite to eat or even using services such as Facebook and Twitter! The last two on this small list are of course illegal here in the UK for the very simple reason that it could put someone in danger.

Make up is the big cause of omens distractions, in fact it makes up for a quarter of them which is shocking really! Surely this can wait until you get to your destination ladies, your life is more important.

By no means are men off the hook here an amazing 10% of them are distracted by other drivers. Women are to blame here for being so damn attractive. Disgraceful!

Both genders were in agreement over one thing and that was that the kids are a major distraction and on both genders they scored highest. So the best advice is to leave them watching a movie in the car or just pull over and tell them off. Never turn around to shout or talk if they are messing around as this means your eyes are off the road.

You do not want to crash or you will have to look for bad credit car leasing and this is not something you want to be doing, what you want is normal old cheap lease cars or simple cheap van leasing.

Top Cartoon Cars

There are many brilliant cartoons out there for kids but what are the ones that feature cars within them? Lets just say you would have bad credit car loans for featuring in one of these toons.

Wacky Races

This has to be one of my all time favourite cartoons and it actually featured 11 cars with over twenty recurring characters from the infamous Dick Dastardly and Mutley to the innocent Penelope Pitstop. All of the cars could do something to try and insure that they won the race, they all had their tricks. Dastardly was always the one that never won the race because he was cheating but if you watch it back you will see the others are just as bad. These guys really needed some gap insurance.

Batman

it is safe to say that the batmobile has taken on a lot of different variations, this is why it is in here. How about the batboat, batcopter, batcycle, batplane and batman’s subway rocket, there are more of course. the bat-mobile is the one vehicle that batman always comes back too but it is fair to say that it is the coolest one. Of all of the cartoons to exist and films and comic they have all taken a different angle on what the batmobile looks like.

The Flintstones

I never got why Fred and Barney didn’t just walk in this show because they were running in the car anyway. 1960-66 is when the original series was actually run from and this year marks a massive 50 years. Some of the earlier shows were actually set in a town called Rockville rather than Bedrock and of course the show was set in the stone age. Barney’s voice was provided by the cartoon specialist Mel Blanc.

So why not get your own car or van, look into cheap van leasing.

Early 2010 Looks Good For Cars

It would certainly seem that the sales of cars have rocketed in January but why is this, are people really feeling the end of the recession?

The Reasons

Sales have risen by a lot, a massive 29.8% which of course is great news but remember how much of a state the world was in last year around this time. There were so many people last year that were just too scared to buy something like a car because they didn't know what the recession would do to them.

The car scrappage scheme has actually been extended even further to March and this is one of the big reasons people are spending money on cars. This actually aloows people a £2,000 trade in sum which of course is why a lot of people are trading in their cars for a new one.

Once the Christmas bills have been paid it is time to look at how much money is left over at the beginning of the year and some of this could go to a really nice car, after all if you have the money you would do it.

Is It Going To Hold?

Well it would certainly seem that overall the motor industry is set for another bad year. 1.Although an expected 82 million cars are meant to be sold this year when you compare it to last year it will be 10% down. Last year was the lowest number of cars sold since 1995.

Although officially the recession is over, people are still going to be feeling the effects of it for a long time. DIY is becoming far more important for people at the moment which is why a lot of people are spending any extra money they have on their homes.

Even bad credit car loans are going to be expensive. The best thing to do it look out for cheap car leasing and cheap van leasing.

Auto makers trim their line-ups

The auto sector is experiencing continuing tough economic conditions. The auto industry will have to emerge from the other side of this recession with a new look; a look that will be forever changed. The way autos are made and sold will never be the way it was. In reaction to this, many auto makers like GM and Honda are cutting low margin or poor selling models and lines to better define and strengthen their market positions. GM has killed the Pontiac line, for example. Honda has stopped making their S2000 roadster, and many others will follow suit from auto makers across the globe.

Clearance sales aren’t always great discounts

Normally, retail clearance sales of discontinued items can be great buys. The discounts are good enough to justify the purchase. However, cars are a bit more complex in how they fit into the sales model. Cars have to retain residual value, or how much they are worth for future resale, to be good investments. Discontinued car lines have a difficult time holding their residual market value because of a lack of demand and a lack of replacement parts and available service and warranty options. Once the particular discontinued model is out of the mainstream, very few people are interested in buying an old model. Combined with difficulties in parts and service and you get very little market value.

Separating the Good Deals from the Bad

The key to determining which discontinued models are the best deals is good solid research. There are several places one can look to find out what the analysts see as the car’s future value. KBB.com, U.S. News site for ranking cars and Edmunds.com are good starting points for information about a car’s value. These sites give valuable information on quality and reliability which directly affect the car’s residual value. Remember, residual value only matters if the car is going to be re-sold or traded in. If a person is planning on keeping the car for a long time, residual value might not be a factor. The car will not be worth much of a percentage of its original value anyway.

Reselling or no reselling

The buyer has to have a plan in place before making the decision to buy a discontinued car model. If the plan is to keep the auto for 8 or 10 years or more, then residual value isn’t a consideration, but warranty and service are. Ask the dealer if the warranty will be honored after the model is discontinued. Also, ask if the warranty can be extended afterward. Some parts are universal for many cars, but one must ask themselves if the parts will be available years down the road. If the buyer’s plan is to get a bargain price and then re-sell or trade in the vehicle, residual value comes back into play. Regardless of the plan, research plays a big part in providing reliable information the buyer can use to get a great deal.

Helping In A Car Accident

So what happens when you are driving along the motorway and all of a sudden you see a huge crash, what on earth do you do. Is there anything at all you can do? Do you get out and help or do you drive away?

Is driving away from this really the bad thing to do, I am not too sure on this. This is not true if you have kids in the back or something like that. Imagine how the kids would feel seeing you actually get out of the car and helping someone who is bleeding to death. You have no idea what could have happened to someone, no idea at all. I would certainly not want my child to see any of this. I did actually see someone jump in front of a lorry when I was a kid and that didn’t seem to have done anything to me.

Are You Trained

One thing that you do need to think about is, are you trained for this. Helping is a good thing to do there is no doubt about that but do people know what they are going to be facing? Are you okay to be treating someone who is on the brink of death, are you even trained to be doing something like this? Is this actually likely. Sometimes one of the best things you can do is to ring for the services to come and wait.

Something that you can do is get out of the car and talk to the people that are involved within the accident. This will help them to get though it until a professional gets onto the scene. If this is something you cannot do then get out.

Of course safe vehicles include company car leasing and of course bad credit car finance. It is best to get a safe vehicle or you will find yourself looking for bad credit car loans.

Do the moths in your pocketbook tell you that replacing your cranky old car is little more than a pipe dream? In plain terms, you will receive a quality car at a fraction of the price. A variety of auctions are held around the United States, these are decent places to find quality yet inexpensive vehicles.

These are usually announced in newspapers and other ads. public car auctions would be a good place where we can be sure that the car we will buy is still in good running condition. These auctions are available to everybody and many cars for sale were repossessed from people who didn’t pay parking tickets and towing charges. Government seized car auctions are also held wherein you can purchase various types of cars still in perfect condition. Most of these cars are confiscated from their owners due to involvement in criminal activities or even failure in paying taxes. Not only do they sell cars but also other properties like real estate.

These items are less expensive because buyers fees and registration charges are not included in the price. Another type of auction is the one conducted by police departments. These usually are police impound cars. Used cars here, like any other auction house, should be carefully examined prior to purchase because prior owners and drivers have likely not provided optimal care to the vehicle. One more auction is the dealer’s car auctions which have better cars than the others and even cheaper but exclusively sold only to those with dealer’s license.

We shouldn’t just purchase something because it’s inexpensive, as the quality of the item still counts. Do your comparison with other auctions being held so you’re sure you’re choosing wisely. These days, having a car is considered by most people a necessity which is why we can’t afford to waste our money buying cheaper cars with poor quality. Though it is possible to obtain this item at a lower cost, it is important to ensure that you are getting the most value for your dollar.

Learning About Your Vehicle's Braking System

Your car’s brake system is the result of decades of improvements. The performance is dependent on the seamless execution of several tasks, which are handled by your master cylinder, rotors, calipers, and pads. A failure with any of those parts can lead to disastrous consequences.

When you need to stop your vehicle, you press down on your brake pedal, expecting your car to come to a full stop. What happens next is a mystery to most car owners. The pedal creates pressure within your master cylinder. That, in turn, pushes brake fluid through a network of hoses that lead to each of your tires. Calipers and pads at each tire apply pressure to the rotors and thereby, stop your vehicle.

Below, we’ll take a tour through this entire system. I’ll explain each of the parts involved in more detail, so you’ll understand the process by which your brakes stop your car. I’ll also describe a few common problems that you may eventually confront.

The Role Of Your Master Cylinder

Your car’s master cylinder is located in front of the driver’s seat. It is actually comprised of two individual master cylinders; each one controls the braking units of two wheels. The design is a fail-safe feature. If one of the two sides fails (though such an event is rare), the other side ensures you will still be able to stop your vehicle.

When problems occur, they are usually due to leaks that have formed somewhere in the brake line. A leak will cause the pedal to drop to the floor when your foot is pressing down on it.

The Purpose Of Brake Fluid

Braking fluid allows the entire system to work effectively. The fluid is formulated to withstand low and high temperatures so it avoids congealing or boiling (respectively). As noted above, it flows from the master cylinder through the brake line to the wheels.

You'll find a reservoir in which you can replenish the fluid located atop of the master cylinder. You should be able to determine how much is in the reservoir without removing the cap. If you notice the level dropping below the two-thirds marker, have a mechanic check the braking system. Worn pads often cause the level to decline.

Basic Construction

Disk braking systems have largely replaced drum brakes. They're more durable and last longer than drums. Moreover, they are less susceptible to water and more effective for stopping your car. The assembly consists of rotors, calipers, and pads.

Each caliper has a pair of pads. The pads are fastened on either side of the rotor. When you press the brake pedal to stop your car, the caliper places pressure on the pads, which squeeze around the rotor. The friction brings your vehicle to a stop.

Over time, the pads wear down and need to be replaced. The rotor likewise suffers wear and tear by forming grooves from the pressure placed upon it by the pads. When grooves appear, the rotor needs to be machined to make its surface smooth enough to provide the necessary friction for stopping. Rotors can only be machined to a certain point before they become unstable. Once that point has been reached, they must be replaced.

Common Problems

Your braking system can develop a number of different problems. Some are serious and need immediate attention while others can take a lower priority (for awhile). Squealing is one of the first things people notice. It is typically caused by vibrations between the pads and calipers. Replacing the former and machining the latter usually resolves the problem.

Other issues include pulling to one side when your brakes are engaged, a “grabbing” sensation, and pulsation. As noted, you might also experience a drop in the pedal when leaks form, or a pedal that feels spongy.

Any problem you experience with your vehicle's braking system should be inspected by a mechanic. Even low-priority issues (e.g. squealing) can worsen to the point that they become more expensive to resolve.
