Aston Martin – Sport Cars

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Of all exotic sports cars and luxury vehicles, the Aston Martin is perhaps the best example of how an automobile maker can combine style, performance and luxury into on car. Aston Martin has been able to do that successfully since it's inception back in 1913. Early on it was clear that Aston Martin wanted to build fast cars and they were heavily involved in the early days of automobile racing.

Business has been challenging for Aston Martin over the years as they have had to overcome many obstacles that stood in the way of their success. Back on in the life of the group it was WWI that posed the greatest problem for Aston Martin, but when that was past, it was back to business. After going ruined in 1924 the corporation was purchased and continued on for modestly one more year before going bankrupt yet a second time!

Those early years were difficult for Aston Martin, but things were about to change. In 1947 the company was bought by a successful businessman named David Brown. It was during this time that the popular "DB" naming system started, named after David Brown. The first car to be produced under his leadership was the DB1, which was built from 1948-1950. Only 15 of these rare cars were ever produced before the design was replaced by the DB2.

The DB2 entered the arena and added a larger engine and 411 or these beautiful cars were produced between 1950 and 1953. Although the company was relatively successful at this point, financial problems were never far behind. In the 1970's the group was sold again a couple more times.

During the history, the Aston Martin brand was associated with the James Bond series of movies. In each film, Bond drove an Aston Martin, which helped with setting the automobile detached from other equivalent cars.

Fast forward in the mid 1990's and this is when Aston Martin really began to shine. After being purchased by Ford, their sales went through the roof. They went from producing solely 700 cars per year to over 2000 in only 2 years of Ford ownership. The DB7 was the car that took Aston Martin from unremarked to a real contender in the wealth performance automobile market. It wasn't long previous another variations of the automobile were produced, as the V12 Vantage and the Vanquish.

These wonderful cars made other coziness and attractive automobile makers take note. Aston Martin cars brought appeal and performance together like few other cars did. In 2003 the DB9 was introduced, which replaced the DB7 and it was another hit. The DB9 model also was available in a convertible version, called the DB9 Volante.

In 2006 Ford sold their stake in Aston Martin, but this didn't break the progress that was produced and the V12, Aston Martin DBS was introduced to retire the Vanquish S. The car created it's debut in the Bond movies called "Casino Royale" and audiences loved the car.

Aston Martin is the marker of exceptional luxury sports cars and if you ever have the opportunity to own or drive one, take full advantage of it!

Luxury Cars – A Good Value Proposition

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

High end car, SUV and Crossover sales have  declined more than sales of less expensive autos during this economic downturn. No one is surprised to hear that. Cash strapped people are being very cautious about their expenditures, and luxury products are typically the first to get cut from the budget. Spending to maintain the appearance of a certain social status has lost its appeal in these challenging economic times. Auto makers as well as businesses in all industries are reviewing the profitability of their product lines just to stay alive. Just to stay alive, they are having to cease production of less popular brands, like Pontiac and Saturn. Why are they keeping their luxury cars? Because luxury cars continue to offer value.

Luxury vehicles from BMW to Astin Martin offer the latest and greatest safety elements. Producers of high quality automobiles, Sports Utility Vehicles and Crossovers provide the funds to research and develop different safety features. Indeed, several safety features found in more affordable cars today, like head injury protection and traction control were originally made for high quality vehicles. Luxury vehicles constantly enjoy superior safety ratings than into less expensive cars because of their investment in creating these innovations.

High end cars, SUVs and Crossovers have more and superior standard features. After all, customers who are willing to commit to the expense for a luxury car do not want the stripped down model. Luxury car manufacturers also offer a larger variety of optional features. You can get heated leather seats, headrest mounted dvd players, in-dash cd players and surround sound Bose stereo systems that work with your iPod. You can get plush interiors including soft leather and real wood trim. Keyless entry and ignition, night vision displays and integrated child booster seats are some of the newer available options. Some models offer a memory driver’s seat. By recognizing the key fob, seats, side mirrors and seat belt anchors are automatically set to the driver’s preference.

Luxury cars almost always out perform less expensive cars. The auto makers invest more in time and quality materials to make sure that their premium cars have top-quality handling and enhanced appearance. Features such as adaptive suspension can sense road conditions and vary the firmness of struts or shock absorbers for a more comfortable ride. It’s these types of enhancements that many drivers never even know about, that can make for a superior driving experience.

Luxury cars come with more comprehensive and longer lasting warranties. Together with better reliability, it could be said that the luxury car owner pays more upfront to save on repairs later. Service departments of luxury car dealerships offer a first-class experience too. Car owners are more likely to enjoy a free wi-fi connection and gourmet treats while waiting for their cars to be serviced. If the car needs to stay in the shop for a while, owners are likely to get a comfortable loaner car.

Even through this economic downturn, prestige and quality are still valuable. Details like genuine wood, aluminum or carbon fiber trim make a difference. People who want their car to convey their status and exemplify their success will want to be seen in a luxury car. Those who just want to own the very best available, and can afford it, will always be drawn toward the luxury car market.

Luxury car manufacturers are experiencing lower sales just like the rest of the auto industry. In the long run, though, luxury cars will stay alive and flourish because they offer real value to the consumer. Whether you’re looking for a top quality sports car with excellent handling, a professional looking car with exceptional comfort and safety, or a combination of the two, you’ll always be able to find a vehicle that meets your needs.

Bently and Aston Pick Your Style

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Status has forever been Bentley’s well-deserved name for building cars with unmatched creature comforts and exquisite style. Even with a change of ownership and remarkable design changes, Bentley’s style and comfort departments remain loyal. But you could need slow-mo to see those attributes found in Bentley’s Continental GT. This sports coupe-with its W 12, 6-liter turbocharged, five hundred h.p. Engine-is no mere GT poser. It’s the real thing.

Bentley’s four-door sedans reputedly have enough cabin space to nicely accommodate a classical quartet; but this two-door sports coupe, in comparison, is sleek and trim. The GT’s creature comforts are nonetheless bountiful as the Continental’s interior comes in nine, exotic, natural-wood trims. Although you’ll need to leave the quartet at home, the strong entertainment center comes standard with a 6 disc CD changer, GPS navigational help, phone pre-wiring, and voice-activated controls for the phone. The seats are sumptuous with flexible leather, offering fourteen separate adjustments, including lumbar support and power memory.

In balancing its swiftness, the Continental GT rides on five-spoke, 19-inch, painted amalgamate wheels. The glide in the ride stems from an adaptive-variable suspension with automatic load leveling, a front independent, double-wishbone suspension with air springs and a rear stabilizer bar.

Yes, the Continental GT is definitely a ramped-up rider compared to Bentley’s respected, classic four-door sedans. Distinctively it retains the lavish qualities expected of a Bentley, but you’ll have to focus quicker to take it all in.

The UK are not coming! They are already back and riding high with the Aston Martin DB9 in its royal fleet. The DB9 is a lightweight only on the scale, weighing in just about 1,500 pounds lighter than the ambitious Bentley Continental GT. However, when it comes to the momentous performance/decadence ratio demands of drivers in this GT fraternity, the DB9 metes out numbers that merit its champion-level standing. The overseer of the 911 Turbo, Dr. Ulhrich Bev, Aston Martin’s CEO, delivers terrifically with a bevy of amenities that make the DB9 menacingly delicious.

The DB9’s frame is a revolutionary VH ( vertical/horizontal ) aluminum-bonded platform, which supplies maximum rigidity, minimal weight and a perfect 50/50 weight balance. Combine that with a double-wishbone suspension and a 450 horsepower,6.0-liter V 12 engine, it is no problem with the DB9 going from 0 to sixty miles per hour in less than 5 seconds. This dragster ramps out at top speed of 186 mph shortly thereafter. The six-speed, auto-manual transmission operates smoothly with magnesium paddle shifters that infuse the fluid feel of a real manual transmission. And the low-RPM responsiveness is nothing short of magnificent.

Amenities come in hordes on this tabula rasa, as customers are inspired to take advantage ofAston Martin’s personalization program. Exterior paint options are limitless. The inside contains handcrafted, stitched leather seats, and the doorway and interior trim come in exotic walnut, mahogany or bamboo. There’s also a Linn 950-watt, Dolby Pro Logic II audio-system option to boot.

What is even better is that Dr. Bev promises that this is only the beginning of what promises to be the new British invasion!.
